I have over 20 years’ industry experience in the camera department 15 of which I’ve enjoyed as cinematographer. I am happy to call myself a cinephile or film geek if you’d rather. I was a videoshop manager in a past life and have bombarded my brain with the cinematic image from a very young age. This, along with practical experience working my way through the ranks has allowed me to develop a great sense of story, style and character.

This knowledge of cinema has also meant that I am comfortable working in all genres and formats. I’m just as enthusiastic shooting comedy and children’s drama as I am shooting art films for installation and everything in between. This has also allowed me to experience the transition from celluloid to a mainly digital age and I’ve embraced the advances of new technology at every stage.

I’ve had the pleasure of shooting features and TV drama series, documentaries and commercials as well as developing long running relationships with celebrated artists.

I shot Duncan Campbell’s film “It For Others” which won him the Turner Prize and I have had a long running collaboration with Douglas Gordon, also a Turner Prize winner, for whom I’ve shot dozens of films.

I enjoy travel and have an undying passion for what I do. I continue to develop and work hard toward shooting more high end drama and features.

I love my job.
